In my art history class today we talked about Kasmir Malevich. He was a russian painter, and pioneered geometric abstract art. After class I did a bit more research on his work and found that he believe " the square is the first step of pure creation in art" and "Subdivision of the square will permit the construction of the golden section, golden triangle and pentagons". Malevich believed that the relationship between art and math was never ending. His emphasis on the square really relates to my work.
